The Safe Spaces 4 Sexual Health Study includes the following sexual health resources for study participants
HIV/STI Testing
HIV
Rapid HIV testing is conducted in a private room on our mobile van using a finger stick. Results will be delivered within 20 minutes, and, for positive rapid tests, a phlebotomist will collect a blood sample to send for confirmatory results. Final results are shared in a follow-up call with a navigator one week later. Everyone who is tested for HIV will receive a $10 gift card.
Gonorrhea & Chlamydia
Men will collect their own samples for oral, anal, and penile chlamydia and gonorrhea testing in the bathroom on the mobile van using self-collection swabs. Instructions for self collection are posted. Test results are shared in a follow-up call with a navigator one week later. Everyone who is tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea will receive a $10 gift card.
Syphilis
A phlebotomist will draw blood for syphilis testing in a private room on our mobile van. Test results are shared in a follow-up call with a navigator one week later. Everyone who is tested for syphilis will receive a $10 gift card.
Care Linkage
STI Treatment
A health navigator will share all of your results in follow-up call one week after you complete your testing. If any of your STI results are positive, the navigator will share information about clinics where you can receive treatment.
Linkage to PrEP
Health navigators will help study participants who are HIV negative get linked to PrEP services to help them stay negative.
Linkage to HIV Treatment
Health navigators will help study participants living with HIV who are out of care get connected to HIV treatment.
